Do not get the suboxone shot in your belly that lasts for 30 days per injection. I did this for over a year before switching back to the strips, its painful as hell most of the time you get the injection, plus after i switched back to the strips i noticed the lumps it makes in your belly doesn't go away and dissolve during the month like they say it does.it took just over 5 years for all the injection lumps in my belly to go away, plus i had a couple nurses that im sure Didn't know what they were doing at the time cause me the most pain ever from the injection that caused me sever pain and even bigger lumps in my gut that took even longer to go away.

I went into the USC er for an absence from intro use. The doc called in the addiction specialist. He convinced me to put on the Sub patch and started microdosing with it. He also got with the doctor and up my pain meds from .5 Dilaudid to 1mg intro. every 6 hrs and oxyxodone from 5mg to 30 mg every 4hrs around the clock. Over the next 12 days my Sub dose was increased slowly orally while the 5 day patchbremaind. As the fast acting opioids died off it allowed a small amount of receptor open to be occupied by the Sub. 15 days later I'm taking the first 8 mg of Sub as I walked out. Minimum precipitation I stayed as comfortable as I believe possible. Very doable I wish everyone had the same opportunity. God bless the whole staff at University Hospital of South Carolina. Very knowledgeable very good at what they do.

I been on suboxone for almost 20 yrs! I was also so done with this crap controlling my life, the fear of running out ,getting sick etc... i tappered from 3/ 8mg strips/ day (24mg) down to about 6mg / day for 2 mos. And i just got my 1st sublocade shot 2 days ago! It was the 300 mg shot ,and idk if its too strong but i have been puking , cant sleep, feel nauseated and dizzy. Im 115lbs and am wondering if the 100 mg shot wouldve had the same result? Unfortunately my dr office is closed till Monday wondering if this is normal n ill feel better in a few days or if its not normal n go to the er?

I wish I watched this vid before I went to a detox clinic. I went in with so much hope, but I soon learned that I had made a massive mistake. All my freedoms were taken from me including my prescription for benzos. I remember going to the nurse after a few days of being there crying my eyes out asking her if I had a seizure and died, if I would feel pain because I genuinely thought I was on death's door. I wasn't sure what was real and what wasn't. Near the end of my stay, I finally talked to a doctor which had zero idea about a slow taper plan and accused me of faking my symptoms to get another prescription. He finally caved when I cried to him telling him how bad it was but instead of prescribing it properly, he switched my prescription from alprazolam 2 - 3.5mg a day to diazepam and raised the dosage in comparison. I think I was taking 45mg of diazepam a day when I left. Needless to say, I left that 'detox' clinic higher than a fricking kite and a sharp realization that most doctors don't know anything about the severity of benzo withdrawal. It's been 6months since I went to that hell which is a money printer for the owners (most rehab/detox centres are), and I'm struggling so hard because of the lack of understanding. How do I tell someone I feel intoxicated when I don't take my medication that I'm addicted to and that I'm trying to ween myself off of? It's crazy to me that so many people are addicted to this poison, yet most of society doesn't understand how severe it is. Thankfully I found a doctor that's following the Ashton protocol with forgiveness for my dosage incase I need to stop the taper for a few weeks and keep at the same dosage. This is a hell that the English language isn't strong enough to describe

One bit of information that no one talks about is how long before you have to worry about relapse? If you’re on the shot for 6 months, how long before you will feel the effects of opiates when you quit taking the shot?

When I used heroin, no fellow addicts I knew wanted to stop using heroin by going on Methadone. The consensus among most opioid users was that once you're on Methadone you were on it for the rest of your life. It was much easier to stop heroin than Methadone. Plus, you basically became enslaved to a cruel, for-profit medical system that really didn't care about you. This wasn't true for all providers. Yet, the fact that your whole life was centered on getting to the clinic was inescapable. Now, we are finally seeing a way out. With so many people arrested, overdosed, losing limbs, dying, this is the best tool we have to end our opioid dependence. I can't wait to look in the mirror and see my pupils dilated. To not battle chronic constipation. To worry about what happens if I can not access buprenorphine. To drop my monkey, permanently sounds almost like science fiction. Good science fiction!
